Standing
over 100 feet high, this bronze monument
commemorates the painful memories and hope for the
future in America’s war on terror. Depicted with
the façade of two torn towers with a tear cascading
down the middle, this gift of the Russian people
has been symbolically constructed along a direct
alignment with Ground Zero. Resting in Harbor View
Park (Bayonne, NJ), the monument was dedicated on
the fifth anniversary of the September 11, 2001
terrorist attacks.
In partnership with the artist, Zurab Tsereteli, and Mast Construction, Brennan Industrial Contractors erected and installed all the structural components as well as the "tear drop" of the monument. The project included four critical crane lifts, each of which utilized a "two-crane" setup, rotating and lifting modular pieces weighing upwards of 60 tons over 100 feet in the air.
Brennan worked hand-in-hand with a workforce contingent of Russian welders to successfully complete the project, including all additional work, prior to requested milestones.
